IMAGE OF THE DAY – “Old School”
Education was distinctly different…back in the day. You could even go so far as to say it was “Old School.”
This is the Old San Simeon School in San Simeon, California.
This first rendering is exactly the way the landscape appeared on this day. I was shooting from the west causing the eastern sky to become an explosive blue! Just a word about filters, if you shoot landscapes you really must utilize a circular polarizing filter. As long as you position the sun correctly, it will make your colors absolutely POP!
In this second image, I’ve desaturated the color and enhanced with film grain and scratches to create a more period look.
And in the final image, I’ve adapted a sepia look also enhanced with film grain and scratches to create a completely antique appearance.
No matter which image you prefer…you gotta love the cow!!

A “little school house on the prairie” moment. I love the colors in the first photo and then the “aging” feel of the last feel – seems real old west.
Hahahaha. I almost expected half pint and Pa to walk out the door. Thanks Car54.
