WHO IS BEHIND PHOTOGRAPHYFREE4ALL? Part 3 The Final Revelation
My resolve to make this blog about the photography rather than the photographer, continues to instill a very real hesitation about any type of personal introduction. Consequently, you won’t find a gallery of self-portraits. You won’t find a grand listing of my accomplishments. And, you won’t find a trail of universities and impressive internships. Goodness, I’m not really that interesting anyway! 🙂
So, who am I?
Well…
My mother once said to me, “Son, you’ve lived a very interesting life.” Wow! That made me sound ancient – you know, like all the best life events were behind me. But that’s not what she meant, at all. She was talking about the risks I’ve taken that led to all of these interesting turns in my life.
Like…
- Making my singing debut at the very young age of 12, before an audience of more than 2,000 people.
- The flight from Ohio to Iowa on my company’s private plane. The flight that would end in an emergency (FAA declared crash) landing on a deserted highway in Illinois. The flight that would bring an FAA investigation resulting in the permanent grounding of our pilot. Harrowing to say the least.
- The cross-country move a young man made with his wife and two small children. A move from a small town in Iowa to the Los Angeles Basin. Talk about culture shock!
- The framed personal invitation from Bob Hope himself, inviting me to an intimate gathering he was hosting at his home honoring Maestro Paul Salamunovich, the director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
- Hosting a radio program for several years broadcasting throughout the Rocky Mountain and plains states region.
- And, several other life events like teaching high school, founding a church in Colorado, and nearly dying from a mysterious disease that still manages to confound the medical team assigned to my case.
And now, I look forward to another life accomplishment – photographer! I hope you’ll join me on this amazing journey that will ultimately lead me into the arena of professional photography. Come along as I chronicle the successes and failures along the way. Interact as I share tips while soliciting your preferences about my photography. Become a part of the journey and see what you can learn, too. It’s going to be quite a ride!
But, I certainly wouldn’t want to bore you by continuing. So, I’ll say this: I’m a man who did indeed marry his high school sweetheart. I have two amazing sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law, and four wonderful grandchildren. I’m very fortunate to live in Southern California and feel blessed to have my family close by.
Hi! I’m Steve Thomas. Glad to meet you!
You’re right, this picture isn’t a high quality shot! Trust me, it’s really better that way!
🙂
