CONSTANT REVIEW CAN BE REWARDING!!
In all the busyness of settling into a new home, I haven’t had many opportunities to plan a photo shoot! In and of itself, that creates an intense frustration. However in that frustration, I have been led to review a number of images from earlier shoots.
I captured this image about 6 months ago from one of my many sunset photo shoots at the Huntington beach Pier. I’m not sure why it failed to impress me enough to make it to the editing stage. But, it didn’t…until yesterday!
So, what was it that caught my eye yesterday? It was the reflections of the street lights on the pier. It seems the way the wave had retracted created the perfect canvas for their illumination!
I will never again believe I’ve exhausted every image from a photo shoot! It seems you may see things differently if you return and review the shots a few months later.
FOOTNOTE: If you look carefully at the far right edge of the pier sitting on the horizon line under the pier, you’ll see the off-shore oil platform just up the coast in Sunset Beach.
absolutely adore this.

Reflections – I love these effects too – and you made a great shot here – and a very true point about review !

Great tip. I have been surprised to see shots that I really like among the “rejects.” When you take a lot of photos, it’s impossible to use all of them. I save them for days when I’m totally uninspired, but need something for the blog.

Hi Truels! I just realized I had read your comment, but didn’t respond to you! My bad!! 🙂 Thank you for your kind words!! I usually say to myself, “Hey, I haven’t heard from Truels on this post.” But, then your comment comes in! I always think they’re great! Thanks! 🙂
