IMAGE OF THE DAY – What a Find!!

In the process of organizing my images, I came across this one from last Christmas.  It’s an image of a tiny French tea cafe located at the Plaza in Old Town Orange.  Wow!  I love this town.  The moon had just risen above the tops of the buildings, which seemed to offer completion for this particular composition.

Providing some amazing photographic opportunities, this street leading into the Plaza area of Old Town Orange is lined with wonderfully restored buildings from a bygone period.

I had to spend a lot of time with this shot as the camera distortion was very evident. As is usually the case with architectural photography, the vertical lines of the walls were converging toward the top of the image.  Bringing them to square was difficult, but well worth the effort!

I thought a framed presentation would enhance the image and allow the eye to realize the night sky at the top.
