IMAGE OF THE DAY – Enormity
Had to share the elephant seals first – no editing required!

Just south of Big Sur, we came upon an area that was playing host to hundreds of elephant seals. We was amazed at the enormous size of these animals – weighing up to 5,000 pounds. It seems these seals make an annual pilgrimage through the Big Sur area and we happened to be part of a fortunate group of interested sightseers.
It seemed pretty common to see a pair rise up to display a half-hearted territorial joust. As I understand it, had this been a real battle it would be much more intense!
This little guy popped his head up just as I was taking a shot. It startled me to the point that I seemed to have blurred all the other seals.
This was a part of a beautiful day 1 of the photo shoot. Unfortunately, the fog shut me out of all my sunset hopes! But that’s all part of the adventure!
